Hard Vitreous Enamel ... a lost art.

Handmade and engraved Sterling Silver Enamel Earrings. Hard Vitreous enameling dates back at least to the age of the great Egyptian Pharaohs. The ancient technique is nearly a lost art. Only a hand full of artisans worldwide continue the ancient technique. Vitreous enamel is glass which is fused to the surface of metal at high temperatures. Hard Vitreous Enamel is durable and stable. Samples still exist in tact from the age of the Egyptian Pharaohs.

The earrings shown are enameled in Turquoise, Peridot and Jet Black colors. A limited number of additional colors are available. Availability varies based on our ability to secure the enamel from limited sources in Europe.
